I'm a yoga educator and relentless seeker of all things real, truth-telling, heart-exposing, and destination-bound. My mission is to empower individuals to access their limitless potential through the lived concept of yoga and wild excursions into the unknown. I believe yoga is a transformational tool that really changes you. And I know this because I’ve experienced it for myself. I went from an anxiety-ridden, overworked, and spiritually-depleted young woman just served a cancer diagnosis at age 24, to a strong and vibrant woman of purpose who transformed her relationship to fear; found her voice, knows her truth, and finds her deepest joy in helping others find theirs.
It's my hope that I can be a voice of support and inspiration to you as you travel towards personal truth, authentic self-expression, radical vulnerability, and all the beautiful places in life that scare you. There are many paths to the summit. Yoga is a vehicle. You are the teacher. Consider me a guide.
Yours on the journey,
Jessica Roodvoets received her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa in 2012, at Seva Yoga in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During her training, she was diagnosed and treated for thyroid cancer and was inspired to study how to use yoga therapeutically for healing purposes. In August 2012, she attended the Professional Yoga Therapist Certification program through Integrative Yoga Therapy at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. Additionally, she completed her 500-hour certification in Advanced Studies in Traditional Hatha Yoga with Senior Prajna Yoga and Insight Yoga Teacher, Theresa Murphy.
Jessica completed 200-hours in the study of Indian Aesthetics and Odissi Classical Indian Dance at Shakti School of Dance in Rajasthan, India, and continues to study the art of Odissi dance with her teacher in Auroville, India. Her yoga practice and teaching is deeply inspired by her study of sacred dance and authentic movement. Jessica believes yoga is anything that enables us to feel like an empowered conduit of the divine. Deemed the "Norah Jones of Yoga" by her community, expect to be led into a deep, soulful and sensual connection with your body, heart, and mind.
Jessica has led yoga retreats, trainings, and tours in India, Nepal, Indonesia, and the Greek Islands. Inspired by the idea of modern-day pilgrimage, she believes in the power of sacred travel to shift, redeem, and transform our lives into the fullest expression of our purpose and potential.
